Thanks for the comments. I look at it , and ponder what else could I do to it. I think however I will leave well enough alone. I do think that I will attemp somewhat of the same thing with my door panels.

the original interior on the car was two tone brown and I absolutely hated it. I figured I wanted to try something unconventional so I did. Have I any regrets, Nope.

I think it looks great if you want to see some bad reflections just try having a white dashboard (must have shades in the day), I like the texture and i would look into doing the pod with a flat black or flat grey that will keep most of the reflections out of your eyes, Stan

If you are going to paint the pod flat black, why not use Alcantara instead in a matching color. It has a suede-like texture. I lust for alcantara on my seats and pod.

C'mon guys -- it's not a Weissach -- a Rennlister using the screen name "Weissach" posted info on a dash repair, and Jeff has taken that procedure to a different level -- "A New Twist". A lot of people are getting thrown off by the subject line!

put the dash and pod back in the car today and let me say it was less than easy. Porsche made it 2 pieces for a reason. Basically put I had to take apart the shifter in order to get the dash in position. then getting the center console to line up perfectly was a bit of a pain. I made some anchors for the center console (the original tabs were broken) once that was done it lined up pretty well. Now all I need interior-wise is rear quarters and roof liner, upper door trim, fuse panel cover, and side pieces for center console. Then the car is off to paint..........
I'll post some pics tomorrow.

Sorry to revive a semi-old thread, but before it gets TOO old I was wondering how the end result looks. I am minutes away from pulling the dash in my 944, and I was thinking about using this fiberglass-bondo technique.
