does anyone know if there is a section in the WSM for testing relays like there is for the sensors?

Did you find the problem? Was your idle speed correct or around 950? It's just I have difficult warm starts (car needs 1/4 throttle and long time cranking) and increased idle (regardless of external temp and time after start), but I can't find leakages or other "typical" problems. Perhaps I'm also having the same tempII issue? (too much enrichment and increased idle by default as temp sensor is out?) Mine is 5speed s4.

Thanks a lot!

sorry I have not received the temp II sensor from 928intl yet, only $38 and deffinately worth a try, not to mention cheaper than having a mechanic even just look at it.

if you have access to the WSM I would take a look at them, Rich was able to pull up and write down the temp sensor test for me, huge help and really easy.

Just got the Temp II sensor, yeah.

Hope it fixes what ails me and I can get back to driving this wonderful machine (only 115,000 on the original everything)

Ok thats enough, WTF

Installed the temp II and still nothing, is there something that could be missing?

Does anyone know how to test the injectors?

Also in the installation process I jumpered the fuel pump relay and noticed a sort of hissing sound under the hood area in the back of the engine near the firewall, WHAT IS THIS!!!!!!????????? Is this something that should happen or is it going to blowup if it does ever fire.

I have a 83 S with the L-Jet system in it and no alarm is currently installed, although it did have the factory 30 seconds to unlock door and enter code system.
Does anyone have any knowledge of this system??

Talking The Best Day in whole world!!!!

So today I go out to the porsche armed with lots of knowledge from all of you great guys. Started following the little green(now brown) wire from the distributor to the spark computer and found that the connector was totally green inside, like moss growing on a tree, cleaned it off with my knife and viola!! She Lives!!!

I would like to thank all of you that posted to both of my threads and especially to Justin and Rich for sticking through all my stupid non-stop questions. Thanks for all of your help.

Now that being said, I must "pilot vehicles at unsafe velocities" (lets see if anyone knows where that is from), also the car is in much need of a bath.

That green wire is pretty important -- needs to be a specific impedance. If it's brown and corroded I'd say replace it at your earliest convenience(like ASAP) or it will bite you.
