Looks like Arena red to me, but not sure if that was a 928 color, or if it was out before the latter 90's...

Eric in Tampa area has a 5 spd Velvet read Euro(85 I think). I saw it last week down at Sebring. Nice looking color.

 

I also vote for velvet red!

I'd'a guessed Rubinrot, 'cause it sure isn't Weinrot. And the Rubinrot pic supplied by the landsharkoz site, is decidedly obscured in shadow... No detraction to the compilers of this remarkable site intended! I even got the color chart beside the pic, and the color isn't near the same, even to the velvet red shot. But pics being pics, reproduction across different media, computers, screens, et al, 'til I see the car, with it's color code, and a true factory color chart ( never happen ), unfaded ( good luck! ), all I've got is guesstimates ....

Heck, look at the differences between the Cassisrot in the landsharkoz site, and my avatar. I believe theirs is sunbleached, or sun flashed, it's so much lighter. Again, it may be reproduction problems?

 

What ever it is, it is a beautiful color!

 

mine is an 82 and the color is called Wine Red Metallic

 

It's many, many km away so I am trying to get a friend who lives close by to check it out and, if he finds it acceptable, to have the owner take it in for a PPI.
