I am in the process of " trying " to do mine. I Removed the sway bar and came to a block. I can't get the four 17mm bolts out that bolt the rack to the cross member. I need to figure out a way to back up the bolts so they dont spin when I try to loosten them. I'll be back at it tomorrow.
Jim.............2 solutions; with a ring end 'Snap On' wrench there's enough clearance between the bolt heads and x-member. Failing that a straight blade screwdriver could be used, jammed between the bolt heads and x-member lip.
OK. I got the rack unbolted from the cross member. I am having trouble getting the steering u-joint to let go. I have both of the bolts out, but it is holding tight. Guess I need to persuade it a bit more. One question about unbolting the cross member. I see that I have to unbolt the lower control arm at the back side. Is this ok to do with the suspension " hanging ". I have jack stands under the jack points at the front so the wheels are not weighted.

Make a mark with a permanent or paint marker so you can line up the collar with the shaft in the same spot on reassembly. Then use a flat-blade screwdriver, tapped into the 'split' in the collar, to spread the collar enough to get it to come off the splines on the steering shaft.
--Pull the PS hoses at the rack and capture the PS fluid in a bucket before you remove the rack from the crossmember. Get new copper banjo washers for reassembly.--

FYI... I did not loosen up the U-joint. Just pulled the rack down to give clearance. You will have to (if yo uhave not already done so) also loosen the front mount for the Lower control arm - and yes, it's okay to let the suspension "hang"." I found Pirtle's write up the best. http://members.rennlist.com/pirtle/svc_mm.html YMMV
