p.s. can't wait to get my car back...
Sounds just about right to me. Some engines are notably stronger than others but those numbers are 20hp higher than the stock numbers I've seen.

My 5sp with just chips and a rmb, (still had a cat at the time) did what you see in my sig. I plan to redyno at the same shop (dynojet) with the Ott x-pipe and intake reseal to see if there is much change with the x-pipe.

ernest - nice photo! you were at the shop
i have not driven the car yet it is still at musantemotorsports. the car was dyno'd with the same dyno unit before at porscherama with the cats on, rmb and chips. chips were an ebay copy..i dont have a completely stock baseline dyno.. thanks guys for all the input... im very happy with the results.. thought i would get a bit more hp dont know why so much torque and not as much HP gain. i will speak to DL about it..
thanks again

Peak Torque and Peak HP occur at different places. With that increase in torque, you will certainly feel seat of the pants difference (I believe that it is easier to feel seat of the pants improvement from low to mid RPMs than Mid to High RPMs unless you are a racer). It is strange in that exhaust mods usually enhance top end to the detriment of or with less impressive results to lower end.

I really wonder what would happen if you ran with stock chips. From what I have heard, Crossovers should offer slightly more HP gains than chips on 85 and 86 US models. I have been curious about what the combined gains are knowing that it wouldn't be a simple sum of the parts.

As others suggested, there might be something tunable to work through, but in the meantime, enjoy the car!

Hey Ernest, just so you know...Carl does not manufacture an "X", he resells our "X" and does a pretty good job of doing so.

I would think that with chips the car should dyno a bit higher but then again, that's one strong 86.5'. It may be that variations in the cam timing can account for the differences. You are certainly right in the ballpark, performance wise.

just an update -- i got the car back from DL yesterday. thanks david !..what a fun drive home from CT. The results....very nice upgrade! 1) could the extra power be felt ? yes - defintley...2) was it too loud---no not really...very tolerable...the x-pipe really starts to sing at 4,000 rpms ...not as loud as i expected...very livable. 3)was it a night and day difference - it was my third mod... chips, rmb then xipipe...the 14 hp i gained on dyno from adding the x-pipe was felt but not a night and day difference... still have to get my fuel/air curve adjusted..b/c the dyno said i gained 40lbs of torque..still figuring i got some more hp to play with...thinking maybe it has to do with the ebay chips i purchased..any one want to lend me genuine autothority chips for a little testing ???
thanks - i will try to attach the dyno charts..

You're hitting either a restriction or air shortage up top.

I would guess it's because the majority of your power gain apparently came in the lower RPM range where it would have a minimal effect on the peak HP rating. Even still, 30rwhp really is quite a nice boost in power!
