Hi there, I'm interested in your setup with the Autronic ECU, I run an SMC for my Javelin and racer. Thought about doing that with the 928. How has that worked out?

The Autronic ECU is configured to drive virtually anything you can think of, IMO. My tech has been programming it for quite a while but has mapped the ignition and injectors throughout the rev range. The fans are driven separtely and come on at staggered intervals depending on the water temp. It can even be programmed for traction control since it has wheel speed input driven from the ABS sensors. I think it will be very strong once I get the SC mounted. But first, I've got to break in the engine following the rebuild!

Those look like the new 2010 Porsche 911 Turbo II wheels (19") that comes standard with the car. Looks a little too big for the S body style, might look better on the S4/GT or GTS.

Needed to put this out there and see if any of you have an answer or help for this problem...

Look at any shots of my white GTS w/ the FM10 wheels on it and check out that front wheel (either one of them). They use this really small diameter and shorter valve stem that is a Fikse ONLY part and NO ONE IN TOWN HAS ONE and FIKSE WILL NOT RETURN CALLS OR EMAILS!

Does ANYONE have one of these I could beg, borrow or steal from you...be especially nice to have it done before 3rd coast or to pick it up from someone attending on Friday night!

Thanks for your thoughts on this guys... so, accordingly at this point I have to tell EVERYONE to AVOID Fikse wheels for the time being. Hell, as poor as their customer service is they may have boarded up the whole building and shut it down! A-holes!

I just need one Mark... pretty please! Right now my entire set of FM10's is useless because that one front stem is F*ed up. Are your front and rear stems the same? My rear stems are screw on style from the front of the rim, looks like the fronts (the real culprits here) are screw in from the back style...

This really sucks! If I can't find a new stem I am going to have to send the Cup II's off for refinishing and then brand new rubber...just what I need to be spending money on as an unemployed guy.

F*ing Fikse BASTARDS!

I have never seen a Fikse with a screw in style valve stem or are you talking the studs that hold the 3 piece wheels together?

Maybe I should have said BOLT in... ALL of them (all the 3 piece wheels I have seen anyway) have bolt in style stems. My fronts bolt in from the back so the barrel that you see on the outside of the wheels is smooth and the diameter is kept small to fit between the rim and the center.

These stems are proprietary to Fikse and THAT is the problem. Fikse is not returning calls or emails so I have no way to buy even ONE! So, now I have three good wheels one bad wheel (stem) and 4 decent (though worn) tires and the whole set is now rendered useless by Fikse's lack of support in ANY WAY!

Does anyone know where these can be bought? Is there a place with a stock of these small proprietary stems? I can't find ANYTHING in Austin! Even the biggest deal in town can't get Fikse to call them back...

FIKSE WILL NOT RETURN CALLS OR EMAILS!

I saw a thread on corner-carvers this AM that Fikse was officially TU, closed for business.

http://corner-carvers.com/forums/sho...ighlight=fikse

Also here, starting around post #100:

https://rennlist.com/forums/racing-a...t-fikse-4.html

FWIW, at the bottom of the RL thread there's a guy who says he can get Fikse parts, maybe he's got a lead on the stems.

Hey James-

Post #140 in that thread, the username is abt cup, you'll like his sig...

His post:

" This whole thing is very sad but it's been a long time coming. I've known about this for months.

If you guys ever need replacement Fikse parts, I can still get them.

I had heard they went belly up. Too bad. I have a set of Profile V's I use for track and I guess I am in the same boat if something happens. Wheel companies seem to be dropping like flies lately.

So the 928 coffers are running a bit low at present. But maybe I can find a used set or some replicas that would be more in my ball park. This is the greatest thread ever, you can spend hours in here!
Mogans,
Check with Eli at Fast Forward Wheels dot com. He carries several high quality lines of aftermarket wheels for P Cars. His prices are very reasonable. He gave me a fantastic deal on refurbishing my Sport Design wheels. Good luck.

Anthony,

Maybe not...my rears take a "normal" stem...only my fronts take the crazy POS proprietary stems, so you might be ok...
