Default Spring Rate

Spring Rate.
Would it be noticeably different on a 1982 non-S car to change springs from the 2 white dots front and rear to adjustable shocks and three green dots in the front and three blue dots rear?

As I recall there is not very much difference in the stock spring rates. I do not think it would be worth the effort. If you want flatter stiffer more sporting think aftermarket... I like the Eibach but EVERYTHING I own has modified suspension everything....Grand Cherokee(Bilstein Eibach 18 inch rims ), BMW 318, 68 911,very brown 1980, widebody 1980 ...EVERYTHING So perhaps I am not a good judge.

Justin, The rear of the car seems to be a little on the soft side. I wanted to give it a slightly harder ride

Jim, I drove Rogers Weissach and it had a much better ride, as far as harshness. Now if my memory serves me the Weissach came with the S suspension and this is what I would be upgrading to.

Roger, Funny!

One important element of how springs feel is the condition of the shocks since compression and rebound rates greatly effect how the car responds to bumps in the road. The stiffer springs have more to do with how a car corners than anything else. Also tire size, brand, age and air pressure all figure greatly into "feel".

Does anyone know what the actual spring rates were/are? My car has the "competition group" and seems to be a lot firmer than other 928's I've driven.
