Leaky power steering tank/hose?
#16
Here are some pic's of the leaks....bummer is it seems they are both leaking a little bit...with the bigger leak on the "cooling" hose!! Figures! However it is not much of a leak....from full on the tank mark to just about 1/2 in a year!

Is it possible to refurbish the return line (86.5, 928.347.449.06) with new rubber fuel line, much as done when reusing the fuel supply metal piping with Roger's fuel line kit (dremel off the connection to the existing rubber from the metal, then clamp new rubber) versus buying a new $120+ complete line? Are the pressures in the power steering system higher than the fuel system?

Guys, Dwayne has a good write up showing how to replace just the "hose part" of this. Look under the DYI session. He specifies lenghts, clamps and even suggested some more robust seals and clamps

Cool, thanks, I'll review that.
(he refers to it as "PS" not "power steering", didn't see it in search...or maybe I just didn't look long enough...)

I rebuilt my pressure hose when it started leaking a few years ago. For the return line, I just used ordinary auto gas hose and clipped it on the fittings at either end. No leaks so far. ATF is very hard on such hoses, and they eventually all go soft and leak....
