Mine was delivered yesterday (4/6). What a pair of monsters. Looks like they could lift a lot more than a 928.

Hint:
Before opening the box, stand it on end in a large lawn & leaf bag.
Cut the box open & brush the chipped styrofoam into the bag.
Makes clean up a lot easier.

I would echo that hint. Be prepared for styrofoam clean up.

And note that these aren't light. My weak *** postal worker wouldn't leave them at the door. I had to go pick them up.

Default I hope y'all put them to good use!

(Sorry about the mess...)

I had said I'd be shipping the last of the previous orders this week, but 'Honey Bunny' had other plans for 'our' spring break - I ended up digging in the yard.

I hope to be back on the two per day schedule this weekend. Thanks for being patient!

Mel - yours will be first out!

They're worth the wait! I have 2 floor jacks and it took me about 10 minutes to get the Shark up about 18" on both sides.

I have changed the design of the lower reinforcement channel cosmetically, to use less parts, and require less finish work. I have restored the original price to reflect this change. I will 'cash back' the folks that have paid the higher price, since they have not shipped, yet.

Note: we will be doing some construction around the house in June, so I will be shuttering my 'factory' during that period.

I have started work on the manual. I will still be adding to it, but it's functional.

Manual (beta): LiftBars_0.pdf

Default And then there were (four)...

A few more days next week, and they'll all be shipped (S3:8/S4:19).

I have enough small parts to make a few more, and (33!) boxes, so I'll see if eBay can reach the non-Rennlist crowd (at a higher price, of course).

Hey PorKen,

Are these things still available? What is the price for the S3 now days? I would be interested? How soon could I get them?

Thanks,

I got my set in last week & used them yesterday! They do weigh a ton! The tip about standing the box inside a trash bag to catch the packing peanuts is well heeded. I had to drive my shark up on stepping stones to fit the bar on my floor jack beneath the side of the car. It worked like a charm though & I am very appreciative for this Shark invention. My wife even picked me up a 2nd set of jack stands at Walmart. I showed her how it worked & she said she "wished whoever makes it will get rich selling them!" Course I explained to her that a Shark wiz invented it just for fellow shark owners & odds were it was alot of work & a break even at best for him. But that just shows how great Shark owners are in what they do for others out of their love for these great cars!

My hats off to ya Ken, THANKS SO VERY MUCH!!

Thanks Mel!

If your car is too low for your jack + bar: before using the bars, go to both sides of the car and jack at the front jack point to raise the car about a foot, then lower it back down.

This will leave the car sitting high enough to easily use the bars.

You can also try removing the jack bucket for the first lift up to stand height.

Yeah, I looked briefly at removing the jack bucket, but the access beneath it was limited & the day was almost over, so I will attempted that next time. Hopefully, it will be something easily taken off & reinstalled. That would be ideal. I like the idea of jacking up the front first too, that sounds promising. I also thought I could get a couple of 2x8s about 6-8 feet long that I could just drive up on first. My wife wasn't too thrilled that I borrowed a couple of the 16" stepping stones from the back yard & one of them got broken in half from driving up on it!

Default Note

I have been recommending lifting with the jack perpendicular to the car (like in the animations), but if you are in a tight garage, and you are going to use 6-ton (15" min.) jacks, get a pair of short jacks (3-ton or smaller) for the first lift side. Position the rear of the jack as far from the car as you can, and always lift in small increments if you are raising the stands.

The same goes for lowering. Again, small increments, and use the short stands on the next to last lowering step.

The point is to limit pushing the car forward or back, and tilting the stands, when the jack moves as it lifts or decends.
...

I hope everyone has used their bars by now!

I haven't heard much from folks...I guess that's good!?

Ken my experience has been that the bars are solid when the jack is almost parallel. When perpendicular, on a rough surface, I've had the jack dig in and ... not so good with a narrow bar ... one of my cars has been up on KenBars for a week undergoing a steering rack replacement and drop link repl. Love the bars.
