too bad carfax doesn't work for the cars that are pre-81.
If the title is clear and the t-belt is intact i think i'll go for it. final desision is tomorrow.

so... i went back there today for a final inspection and i found this in the coolant tank...... CASE CLOSED

78-79 and all 85 and newer 928s have a oil cooler in the left side of the radiator which if it leaks can push oil into the coolant while the car is running AND after shut down the pressure in the hot cooling system can push coolant into the oil. If the engine was run with lots of coolant in the oil that is very hard on the bearings.

yeah, the idea of trying to bring back that kind of engine back to life scares me from financial standpoint.... I'm pretty sure the car was overheated badly too... it's weird.... the car has a brand new exhaust, looks like someone was working on it. a 928 trans taken apart in the driver seat area, stock trans is on the car..

Sunroofless and no side mouldings and looks straight at least from that shot ...

From what i understand after the oil and coolant are mixed the whole engine has to be rebuilt/cleaned, right?

the guy at the junk yard wants 1250, he was gonna give me it for $1000 because i'm a local fireman and been to a few fires at his junk yard but that's too steep anyway, if you want it it's yours. Just give me a good deal on those Phonedials

anyways, i'm giving up on that car. I have an A1 GTI project to finish and engine rebuilds are def. no for me...
