Nicole, seats are basic sport seats meaning fore-aft and backrest movevent is done manually. Buttons move front and back up-down. These are much more common than 8-way sports.

The black white checkered interior was on my 80 euro, long since gone. The GTS has Beige (actually listed as Cashmere) intrior like this one.

I believe the sport seats only came with minimal power adjustments. I can say that the covers always show as a different color than the seats themselves. I was told it is because of the material used (not leather covered from the factory) and how it accepts the dye. It all depends on the light. The one photo shows the material color to be the same as mine, more gold than tan. Hard to tell with digital photography sometimes.

Most of the S4's with tan interior are called Champagne...it appears Cashmere is slightly darker than Champagne....at least the carpet is....the leather seems exactly the same to me?

Are you sure of that? You have your interior listed as Cashmere on the registry and it looks like mine.

ahh okay.... fair enough
*sigh*
checker would be the coolest interior ever - I'd totally recover seats in that if I had to replace the leather

Well... Cashmere was a standard leather color from MY89 onwards. Before, there was a special leather option called "Champagne". That's what Brian is referring to.

It was a very cool interior and is probably coming back into style today. My 80 had the checkered material everywhere including the door inserts and back of the rear seats. It was great unless you had a hangover and then it felt like you were hallucinating.

Nicole,
Was Champagne a different color interior? Brian's looks similar to mine and has it listed as Champagne in his signature but as Cashmere in the registry. Wasn't sure if it was one of these Guards red, India red same color with a different name scenario.

Cobalt
When I posted on the registry I assumed my car had cashmere...sense other cars with a similar color (in pictures) looked the same. Once I got my COA from Porsche then I realized I had champagne interior...in pictures it is very hard to tell the difference...but in person it is slightly darker...which is easier to see in the carpet...since the leather is so close! Most upholstery shops that stock Gahh leather will have a sample....you'll see a cashmere, champagne & champagne II....my car most closely matches champagne II

Quick Reply: Interesting GTS interior ???
