They don't call them "grey" market for nothing, it's all one big grey area.
#21 would make a nice jewel of any 928 collection.
The other one under discussion, the "never can be titled" 928, reminds me of two things:
1) that stolen '68 Corvette that made the news by being recovered recently - it had sat in someone's collection without plates for 35 years.
2) Bill Gate's new 959 languishing in a shipping crate in an L.A. US Customs warehouse for many years. Maybe someone snuck that 928 over the border, eh?

Could be stolen, could be a snuck in euro, could be a wreck rebuilt US with euro parts, could be any combination of these things, could be the seller was a victim and still doesnt know it......anyone run a carfax on it?

sunroof delete option was more common in early cars, probably a third of 78-79 were NS
not sure why there is no mention of mechanics inspection, they probably don't know enough about the cars to give a good inspection and therefore don't mention it so not to put themselves in a situation where they are liable

prior to the mid 80's there were no definative guidelines on federalization, this is why some early Euros still have 8" lights, no rear bumperettes, and even still have the km clusters.... post 83 or 84 (IIRC) the guidelines became specific

Rixter, what's the deal with #21? It looks US, but he says Euro. I didn't think any of the really low SNs were US.
I love the interior even though it is very strange... brown, tan, cream, blue pascha all in a red car.
