why is that bad?? heck, you(or I ) would probably just take the block and heads, put in 85 or GTcams and be off and running ( a little faster than we are now!)
even if it was a 5 speed, you would get that single disc clutch and a different bell housing, etc.

this would be a perfect drop in for a lot of S3s and S4s!

It's bad because the title was:

FS GTS engine and trans
I wanted the trans part, could care less about the motor.

That's weird, I can't find the price of this engine and tranny anymore.

I was talking to a fellow SOCAL'er and he needs a replacement GTS engine for his 93 auto. I remembered this thread and could have sworn there was a price.

I PM'd a couple of folks and they weren't 100% positive so I figure some folks here have to know.

Anybody out there remember???

Thanks!

I thought it was $5,500 exchange. That was just for the engine. Maybe the exchange would be another 4 valver as there isn't many GTS engine out there to change? Better ask the person who posted it.

Keith--

Why don't you (A) call Mark and see if it's still there. (B) Call Greg and see if it will cure the problem for our buddy, and (C) check with that buddy to see if he's interested in that option. Maybe (C) could contact (B) directly, and (B) could contact (A) for a direct negotiation. If I were Greg (B), I'd want to do a little look-see inside the 'new' (A) motor just to make sure it's an 'improvement' over what's in the (B) car already.

Managed to say that whole thing using just three letters...
