Default Power steering fluid reservoir removal (1980 5 speed)

Anyone know if the mounting bolts here screw into the frame or do they have a nut in back of them that requires accessing the nut from the inner wheel well?

I loosened one of the two and it didn't catch/screw back in.

One thought is perhaps there was a nut on the back of the bolt that fell thru to the inner wheel well?

No captive nuts. The reservoir is bolted in with two M6x18 bolts and M6 nuts with a washer and lockwasher on each bolt.

Thanks. Can i access the M6 nut by just removing the inner fender guard right by the driver's side front tire?

I can't remember whether the nuts are forwards or aft of the splash shield. It will be self-evident when you look in there, either there will be two (well, now 1 on your car) nuts visible about 15 mm apart, if they're aft or the splash shield, or there won't. Apologies for all the commas in that last sentence.

I just had this out in my '79, no need to remove the fender liner.
