You're on the money ... my Porsches often yawn as my adrenalin level goes up, and you're right about margin too ... I reach my own margin long before I reach the car's .. which some people find boring. My NSX buddy loves to smoke tyres and spin ... not for me.

Wow, the 944 isn't looking all that impressive anymore. Gotta get a 951 or 928.

The old very brown 1980 on the Streets of Willow road course has made several people turn green and not with envy Although several did express that they wished their much newer nicer ( ) was turning laps that fast !

Wagner does sit well with a 928 .... and I rode with Nicole last week. She doesn't hold back, and I know those tracks she's talking about

that we listened to Nicoles' soft but strong voice of reason castigate the wicked.
Many was the post/reply where she scolded the evil forces of horsepower...

Where has the fair voice of reason gone, I ask you? Was it one too many frenzy's?
The quiet corruption by association, perhaps? What has brought Nicole to this land of debauchery. How was her resolve weakened?
Heartbroken, we now see Nicole making offerings at the Dark Alter to the God's of HP, Brakes, and Handling. Terrorizing hapless victims to the point of soiling their breeches, what next?
Where will this sad tale end?
Heal thyself Nicole! Otherwise, I have visions of you skittering on the downhill, curvy, cobble stone road to the Stuttgart Stadplatz... water spraying from the oversized tires of a Harlot Red S-4, Wagner blaring -heavy on the bass-.
Rushing to the Mikey Dee's for a viertlefunder mit kasse und ein grossen pomme frites und bier.
And then on to the Platz to chalk in a rather gothic looking rendition of a pillaging SC'd 928.
Envision that, young lady!
Oh my God!
I just noticed ... if you turn the N in Nicole's name to the right 90 degrees it's a ... Z....
Not to be mistaken for Zorro... but, dare I say it?
Zuffenhausen
I was wrong ... Nicole has been corrupted since birth - and a Schwabe babe to boot-.
Good to hear that you are having fun Nicole.
Und now for your listening pleasure...

Although not totally the case, I think of it as quasi traction-control- the car has reserves of performance far beyond what I'll reach on the road. If something happens while I'm going a little hot (for me), the car is still far enough from what it can do that I don't get into actual trouble. And like traction control, it still won't defy the laws of physics.

Well... Your car
- sounds better
- has wider tires - therefore even more cornering abilities
- needs a LOT more steering effort than mine.

I feel very privileged to have driven yours. Thanks again for this wonderful opportunity!

While I often speak out against shark abuse and molestation, I don't remember saying you should drive a 928 like a grandmother.

I might not take it to the extremes in twisties (where I can't see around the bend). And providing they make sense I might make an honest effort to stick to the speed limits around town (since I once had a pedestrian run into my path and experienced first hand what can happen).

But a freeway is supposed to be a free way - not a communist exercise where everybody is limited to the same low maximum, regardless of ability, ambition, conditions and equipment.

Yet, I have to say that over here I drive a lot faster in many situations than I used to in Germany. This is because most non-freeway speed limits are higher in the US than in the good cold home land (hard to believe, isn't it?).

But it's certainly nice not to have to worry about photo radars all the time - the V1 has so far done a pretty good job in detecting potential threats.

Oh, and Wagner music is not my cup of tea. Try Bach, Mozart, soft rock, 80ies pop, etc.

Dave I did send word, but it didn't apparently reach you. I had so little time, it was a real bummer missing you and Bil and other friends

Oh well, no worries... There was another rennlister in town recently and I was too busy to meet up then. I was about a week into a new job and have only recently started to poke my head above water.

BTW, New Gmail feature
