Default Disconnection of RDK

I am going to disconnect the RDK com.
I am tired of tire pressure warnings. I am based in Thailand (Bangkok) and getting new sensors is not that easy.

Where is this connector situated? and where is the harness connector?
(see below)

Any help would be appreciated.

Nils

Note: A do it youself fix is to unplug the connector (leaving the RDK computer disconnected) and put a jumper between pins 2 and 13 on the harness connector.

Simply disconnecting the RDK is not an option. You will still get alarm indications on the warning panel. Your note is the accepted procedure to disable the system. The control unit is an aluminium box (from memory about 150X100X30 mm) with rounded corners. If your car is left hand drive you should find it near the steering column/clutch pedal area. (Somebody with LHD confirm this please.) For RHD it is high up against the right side kick panel near the driver's right knee. The harness connector into which you install the jumper wire plugs onto one end of the box. It is recommended that you disconnect the battery before beginning the job.

What model year is your car? Rennlisters normally include it in our sign-off. Like this

Hi there,

I am new in this forum so I don't know the syntax.
Anyway the car is a 93 GTS and RHD.
I bought it a couple of weeks ago and there are only two garages that can repair the 928 in the whole of Bangkok. Anyway I will try and disconnect the RDK, now when I know it's location.

Thanks!

Nils

I have found the RDK. Now I am not 100% sure where pin 2 and 13 is located.
One pin is marked 2 so that is easy, but no 13?

Any help is appreciated.

I forgot that part. You have to pull back the plastic/rubber'boot' over the wiring to read the terminal numbers on the back of the connector. They are very small.
