Default Seat Heater Material - Can it be sewed?

In a different post I commented on replacing the seat heaters on my car today.

Currently, I have the heater material between the padding and the spring on my seat back, and I don't think this is right because it doesn't get very warm. I need to move it between the padding and the upholstery.

It seems like it will be much easier if I stitch the heater to follow the contours of the pleats. But I obviously don't want to screw up my new OEM heater.

Can someone explain how these get hot and whether it's okay to sew these to the seat cover? They're very flexible, but I assume there's some kind of wiring running through them, like a defroster or something.

Bump

Someone here must have some experience/expertise with seat heater materials and how they can be handled without disrupting/damaging them...??

no clue, but I imagine if you place the stitches right you'll never actually sew them....
