Working on drawings. Price will probably be about $40 per piece.

Mark,

I'd like some as well. I was able to buy 2 from 928 INTL a couple of years ago and after that, have not been able to find any. I'm upgrading my 79 to echo the look of the later (89 and up) systems. I have 2 of the flat plates (that would fit in the rear quarters, but not the angled plates that fit in the doors. Several have told me to just go to a stereo shop and have them fabbed out of plastic, but I'd think that after a while they would crack!

I'd also like to grab the molded 6.5 inch woofer brackets in the back as well. I was able to grab one from Randy Grubbs a couple years ago. ( He blew a woofer and actually found the very last new one available anywhere for his GTS). I have tried to find other brackets but most folks will only sell with the entire rear quarter panel. I even tried 928 INTL and Jim told me they throw away any blown woofers out of those cars, that they're not worth keeping. Damn, I"m sure he could sell every single one they've thrown away!

Anyway, count me in for this gig!

There are 4 different speaker bracket shapes (in the 10-speaker cars): front tweeter (angled), midrange (4 of these), woofer (6.5"), and rear tweeter.

I haven't gotten back to my rear speaker replacements yet, but when I do I'll see about recreating the rear woofer bracket as well.

I'm trying to figure something out of the rear as well. I am in between using the later style particle board panels or the early style (and very heavy) plasticy ones. Either way I would probably need a hole for a 6 or 8 inch woofer, but its not a sub. I'm trying to keep the total weight down of the entire stereo system, but it still has to thump.

Need design input:

1. Go for lighter weight, or fill the hole with metal (so that, looking through the speaker grille, there's minimal open space through the bracket)?

2. I'm thinking about a 2-piece design. One piece would be a generic bracket that could be used for rear tweeters; the other piece would be a complementary wedge that would angle the tweeter in the bracket for installation in the front. Thoughts?

That sounds great ! kill two birds with one stone . If I can get some for the rear speakers I'll buy those as well ,mine are cracked and are held together by epoxy.

Mark,

I feel badly that I didn't see this post before now. I am sure that I can find a defunct front tweeter from a 10 speaker set up from my '91 GT. I had them replaced and I didn't throw them away.

Are you still in need? If so, pm me.
