Malcolm- I highly recommend the 928OC writeup on assembling the Aeros. Much easier in my opinion. http://928oc.org/journal/aeromirrors.pdf

THX for the B-day wishes...
One other tip, the gasket will not want to stay on very well. I used a dab of superglue to hold it on until I got it mounted on the car. Then, the bolt that holds the assembly to the car, is pretty tight to the body of the mirror. Lay a thin towel or something similar on the body of the mirror so the allen wrench will not scrape the mirror. BTDT! Other than that, take your time.

This is getting to be a pretty snazzy, all tricked out S4 auto - probably make it a tougher decision to dump in favour of a 5-sp : Plan 'B' ? - keep the auto, buy the 5-sp, move out to the doghouse .... when the SO finds out.

Yes the machine is turning out to be quite the 'keeper'
I do keep lookin' for my GT but alas no '2nd' car yet but I'm workin' on it. If the coversion wasn't so painful/expensive I swap the trannys/rear end/camshafts etc etc.
Then again for that kind of money there's always the supercharger and I'd have to move he dog house to the other end of the property........the North 40

Half way into the passenger side aero mirror install and I have 2 questions (so far):
for those who used the old motors did you splice the wires and chuck the connectors?
again, when using the old motors is there a grease (vaseline) that could be used to lube the motor shafts?
So far not to bad a job.............this time last year it was the engine motor mounts!!!

OK............I spoke to soon; the dismantling of the old was easy, wiring is fairly simple as I'm using the old motors but bench building the new was a struggle. To attach the base to the mirror holder you have to compress a spring and turn to lock in place. After careful 'dry' runs and a few PMs I got the SO to help with advising of the alignment as I pushed with and turned with all my might. Long story short you have to have everything aligned perfectly, push like hell straight down and then turn & lock.............presto mirror is assembled, bolt to the car, connect the wires and admire with a cold 'Canadian' one of choice.............thx Andrew/Dave

Rich...........$569 US painted from Dave Lomas at Motorsport for the entire kit including wiring, motors, glass and hardware. Once you've done all the mechanically fixes and upgrades these are a nice to have.
