I would be happy to and have been waiting for the right time. I am not saying that what everyone else is putting out is junk. It has worked fine except for all the heavy metal and actual archaic design. Over the last couple of decades a lot has occured in the design of crankshafts with offset counterweights that allow larger engines to experience less stress than older designs. A number of these custom cranks have been made without using the latest FEA design when looking at the dynamic system. They will likely work for years, but there are much better ways to make them run even better.

EN30B for example can be a better option for cranks than 4340 in certain applications. That is just one fundamental change from the norm.

If there actually is interest, I will look into it further. We won't be able to justify this as a profitable venture, but it is a possibility if people don't mind waiting a little while as long as we give firm date.

Thanks,

Garrity

I got PLENTY of time. Well, not decades, but you know.

I was already planning on a one-off almost-stroker for third engine I would build for the 89 chassis.

I too would be interested.

One thing that bears mentioning, and this is just from my own observations, is that the recent availability of the headers from 928 Int'l., and the prior batch order of 928 Int'l stroker cranks are truly from Mark Anderson's excellent relationship with his fabricators. 928 Intl is an OEM parts /dismantler retailer, not a fab shop. I have a hard time believe that these custom hop up parts have much of a profit margin, and but for Mark's appreciation for the 928 community, these custom parts have to be more trouble then they are worth. I think both the stroker crank and header orders arised out of Mark A. ordering parts for his own race car, and then him going the extra step of burdening his fabricators with a small run of additional units for his customers. It's truly exceptional that Mark is willing to make the extra pitch to get these custom pieces made, let alone at a reasonable price and unbelievable turn around times.
Thanks Adam,
You are too kind.
It is true that performace parts have never been the main focus of our business and both the crank order and header order arrose from good long time customers asking me to help.
That said I would highly recomend Moldex for a custom crank. Yes it is true they are by no means fast but they product is excellent. Mine is over 10 years old now and I have lost a few engines in that time but never once has the Moldex crank suffered any damage and has never been turned down to the next bearing size. 10 years have past and they're price has stayed the same (about $2,200).
