Porsche gave the S4s a hotter timing map because of the knock sensors. An 85/86 could probably handle the same boost as an S4 - but in a safer manner. The only time I could make my 86.5 ping was at a very hard launch. Considering some stock GTSs from the factory will ping slightly on 91 octane.... i'm pretty darn happy with those results.

In my opinion, knock sensors are a crutch. I've been able to make plenty of knock-sensored cars ping (if i tried). What's the point of having a precise knock sensor that can pickup on in-audible pings if it can't even stop the audible ones? I will NEVER trust a knock sensor in any car I buy.

I'm going to put in a vote for an even 400rwhp.
