Don't need no stinkin' tubes in the wintertime.

Sheet, my car pulls like a bull on Viagra when the temp goes below 50f*.

*Although it can get a bit soft in summer traffic.

The insulation on the GTS tubes was done to reduce induction noise, not to keep the air temperature down.

928ntslow, where did you pick up or purchase the hose? I like the look and the price is you listed is very reasonable.

My stuff looks a lot like Keiths, got it from Bill Sanders (WDS928).

The hose was purchased in 6 foot length for around $20 something dollars. It is industrial ventilation hose that is heat and stain resistant 3" (i.d.) diameter. I got it from a local industrial hose supply house called HOSE MAN here in California. I have told others around the US about this and I expect that they have found the hose or something quite similar at a local supply house to them. I do not have the manufacturer name or model number.

I used the Mecedes Benz 560SL tubes. Threy're about 6 bucks each at the dealer and have a thicker wall than the Porsche tubes. They've been under the hood for a couple of years now with no problems whatsoever. BTW, they don't have the restrictions. They're also shorter so you'll need to cut the Porsche tubes to make them work. Let me know if you need some pics of what these things look like.

Default Strange intake setup

Anyone ever seen a setup like this?
I got this picture from a fellow GT owner here in Sweden, will ask him for more details.

I like that setup Peter! I wonder how well it works. It's a lot like DR's supercharger intake tubes, but a little more stealthy.

That IS interesting, but before I would go that route, I would HAVE to see some dyno numbers. Based on what some have done with the 928 intake system up to the TB, one would think that there would be gains...quite the contrary.

Those MB hoses are great looking and a wonderful alternative...the price rules!

Hi Oscar I would love to see a photo of the MB induction tubes, I need to buy some next week.

The MB tubes are as per Shockis pic. Part number on the tube 117 094 03 82. Four tubes used there. There is another shorter MB tube that may be linked to these, part# 617 094 04 82. Don't know if the diameters are suitable on the last tubes.

I use the brake duct tubes, like the black and yellow stripped stuff. smooth inside, especially compared to stock ribbed stuff.

as far as that trick intake... forget about it, no design is as efficient as the stock stuff. ive dynoed even a 4" cone filter with a bell mouthed inlet on the maf, directly pointing down, (so the hood couldnt even close, but it was the most intuitively efficient set up) and we lost 4hp!!!! put on the stock air box with barely oiled KN, and got the 4hp back!! we did an interesting test with the eRAM blowing directly from the rear of the air box to the MAF (meaning the eram was in the middle) and gained about 5hp. no pressure gains on 317rwhp, but i imagine it was a flow changing event that made the flow more efficient. however, on the 82 we got near 10ftlbs of torque as the eRAM has a limit of adding pressure to about 250rwhp.
