Default Oxygen sensor

As I have been working on the cleanup since pulling the engine, I noticed a brown wire hainging around the oxy senson. I am a little confused! It doesn't look as if it is for the sensor, because of its condition. There is a white and a black wire attached to the sensor. I think that someone wrote about more than 2 wires on their new sensor, however it may be another kind of oxy sensor because it was related to a turbo(?). Can anybody give a little info.

You should have a 3-wire sensor: Normally for Bosch, the signal is black and the two heater wires are white ... the sensor element grounds via the body threads. Brown ....??? anything is possible: I'd open the fuse panel door and fish around for the sensor wire that is lying limp at the bottom. Open the connector and check continuity on the heater wires .... repair the 'hanger', and you're back in business.

Thanks, I guess I need to go fishing. I may have to add the sensor to the wish list.
