- 87'-88' - Yes, but one additional wire (pin A) is needed to add a speedo signal to the kickdown relay (89+ get this speedo signal from the digital instrument cluster), speedo signal would have to come from the differential speedo sender which provides signal to speedometer and cruise control.

- Pre 87 with 4-speed auto - No, not recommended, GTS throttle valve switch may not adapt, pre-85' CE panel design has earlier relay sockets which may not work with later GTS kickdown relay.

Currently in the final stages of completing this with Paul Anderson in the UK on MY88 928. Has anyone actually completed this job on a '88 car with the speed signal from the diff speed sensor of cruise control?

Some specific details and photos of where to get this signal on a MY88 928 would be most helpful.

Thanks

I have not done it - but the cruise control speed signal is Pin 11 on the cruise module - a Blue/Red wire.

Not sure if thats directly compatible with the Speedo-A signal from the DigiDash - but its all you have, it is at least close enough that either of these signals can be used to drive the same cruise speed control module between years - so worth a try... I suspect it will work fine.

This wasn't a hard install on Rogers car since we had to take off the top end for new powder coating. It goes exactly as Shocki said too, no surprises or odd things. Straight forward and simple if you are taking the intake off anyway.

I can't say that I'd do it on my '88 as I already row the shifter in the same fashion. Might re-think that when I take my intake off to have it all coated again here soon.

Sean what year is Roger's? I am in the process of getting this done on my 88 and there is still the question of finding the speed signal on a non-digital dash that will trigger the GTS IKV.

You asked & you got a specific answer - It is likely that only a handful of people in the world have ever retrofitted this system to a car that wasn't equipped that way - and possibly none have ever done it on an '88... There is nothing better than this signal on an '88 - it is used for the same purposes elsewhere.

You will just need to try it.

I suggest you contact Eric Kilby on the UK list, he recently fitted this system to an early S4. I think Chris Sanderson did the work for him. Took the speed feed from the cruise control harness, IIRC.

Thanks John & Alan

Mine is going in to Paul Andersons in the next couple of weeks so thought I would ask to see if anyone had finally done it to an '88. I know we talked about this a while ago John so good to know that Chris Sanderson managed to get it done.

Hope to see you at the Merry Miller John later this month

Many Thanks
