Default Euro 4.7 liter twin turbo!

Being the nice guy that I am (but you all already knew this right?), I have offered up my stand motor to my Brother for use in his 1984 Callaway. It seems as though the motor in his car is "questionable" at best. He has had issues with it smoking and we can't find the problem....sounds like the last two owners complaints as well. That motor has been sleeved 2X and only the shadows know what has been done on the inside. The sleeved block is going bye-bye (it will become my new bench queen motor). To us it is not worth even opening it up.

So, this build will be a 4.7 liter with 8:1 CR, JE's, Nikasil, Euro heads with 84 cams, fed by L-jetronic. We will run the Callaway IHI's for now. Since the IHI compressor wheels are not that great we will be having them modified to use a T3-Super 60 wheel in the hopes of gaining about 6-8% efficiency out of the turbos along with more flow capacity. This will be step one... We think this car will be fully capable of about 475-500 HP on about 10 psig without overworking the small IHIs.

The point with doing all of the internal work is at a later date we can add some super modern turbos ala Garrett, re-intercool the car, install new manifolds, et. al and really open it up. At that point, I would geuss this car could be in the 600 HP range without too much issue at all.

With any luck this car and my new S4 TT will be available for review at SITM this June. I'll have to make sure the pony doesn't outperform the horse this time around
