If this current auction Used air compressor
is any indication of what these things are worth & will be worth in 10 yrs. or so, hold on to those things!
Weren't the Big 3 selling these things new for less than $60 only a few years ago?
And I thought gold was a good investment.

I just sold one on eBay for a Buy It Now of $225.00.
Possibly could have got more.
I still have another 5 left.

Does it have the "Do It Yourself" manual transmission, or the superior "Fully Equipped by Porsche" Automatic Transmission?

I bought one that really works for $14.95 at HF. Now if you have the Kermit car and you want 100% orginality, then go for it, but otherwise, I say go for functionality.

I have the one that came with my 84'. Never used and still wrapped in the factory plastic. I also have a sealed plastic bag with a bottle of factory touch-up paint and some other goodies from the factory.

Colin. The bag is sealed and I don't want to open it. It has the touch up paint with Porsche lettering on the bottle and German writing on it. At the top in bold letters it says LACKSTIFT. There is a little foil packet like a " wet nap " packet that has a wipe for lubing the antenna mast. There is also a pair of clear plastic disposable gloves. Also a folded up plastic sheet that I guess is for a ground cover when you change the tire and want to stay clean. And the last item is a cassett tape that says "Blaupunkt.Acoustic instructions for car radio Monterey SQR23 ".
That is the extent of what is in the bag. I am probably being **** by not opening the bag, but I don't need the things inside so I'll just leave it alone.

Thanks for the info Jim
In case you were wondering, I'm trying to find out what-all came with the car when original. I have only the factory touch-up paint, gloves and incredibly, a Porsche DUSTER! Is your plastic sheet flat, or is it actually a bag which could be used to contain a (dirty) wheel in the back after you've fitted the spare? Also, is your jack in a bag?
Anybody else know what was originally supplied with the car?
Colin. 89GT. BTW I wouldn't open the bag either.

The unopened bag came with mine as well; all tools & the spare intact and unused - even unused factory crest floor mats, but no compressor for some reason. I'm glad that I bought one from the Big 3 before they became n.o.s.
It's actually a useful thing to have along. Mine has gotten me out of a pinch already when I picked up a nail in my rear tire. It saved me from having to sacrifice the virgin spare.
I wonder what other still available factory parts/accessories will become scarce and coveted. Probably what puts these compressors at a premium, is the numerous model applications that they were used for.

In my car, the folded up plastic sheet is an apron. Similar to a machinist's apron. I have the gloves as well. It also has spare fan belts with a little metal tag on them. The jack is in a felt bag.
