Anybody seen this 6 foot 928 poster??
Hey,
Anybody ever seen this 928 poster anywhere before? Its a MONSTER!
I was appraising an older small "beaches" house today & rounded the corner into the small kitchen & WHOA!!! Theres a 2 1/2 foot by 6 foot poster of a dark green 928S on the wall over the sink!! I've never seen ANY car poster that large, much less one of a 928! Has Porsche in funky red letters beneath the car.
I WANT IT! I inquired about the poster to the two elder "gents" who owned the home & they replied that one of em's nephew had thrown it into the garbage when he moved out of his house! The SACRILEGE! They took it cause it fit perfectly over their sink due to the length! I asked if they would consider parting with it. They replied that they did plan at some point to put in a window there & would let me know when that day arrived. I made sure they had my card & told them it would definately go to a good home & I was willing to pay for it.
Maybe I should of offered to have a window installed for them perhaps? It definately deserves a better home than over someone's sink! And they had NOTHING car related in the home, it was not even close to matching any of their otherwise crappy decor! Maybe I should offer them one of those large panoramic view posters of Key West or San Francisco? They have those I think, right? They did have a small Key West poster on one wall. Not that there's anything wrong with that of course. Both are great towns.
The pic I posted is not too good, one of my appraisers took it for me & the darn poster was so long it was tough to get the whole thing in the photo even with a wide angle lens!
So, has anyone ever seen this large 928 poster before? Is it available anywhere? I tried to read the small print in the lower left corner but it was obscured by the framing.

(shivers) Never seen this before, but would like to see more of it! I suspect it was privately done by an independant photographer. Were there any copyright markings in the corners? "PORSCHE" is some kind of goofy font. This leads me to believe it is a one off.
BUT!!!!!!!!!!....the good news is that you can get a copy made! You would of course need to negotiate a price with the boys and figure out what their time of wait is worth.

I have the same poster in size 20 x 28. Printing on the bottom reads, “Copyright 1984 Diane Padys Photography, San Francisco. Poster #PDS102, litho in USA. Published and distributed by Portal Publications Ltd.” Portal Publications current address is 201 Alameda, del Prado, Novato, CA. 800-227-1720. portalpub.com
On my copy, that’s the artist's signature “Padys” under the car.
Hope this info is of some use in locating a poster.
