Default Accusump placement

Hi,

I bought an Accusump kit to my street/track car (90 GT). Does anyone have any recommendations where to put the accusump? The car has most of the interior intact, I was thinking about putting it in the luggage compartment behind the left rear seat.

Regards
/Rehan

I welded in the accusump mounts on the rear crossmember (this x-member is the back of the rear seats) behind the driver's seat. My lines will go across the tranny tunnel and down through the grommet where the tranny tunnel and bulkhead meet. You can see the straps in these two pictures located behind the driver.

I put my Accusump behind the passenger seat. I figured that was a good position for balance to offset the normal "no passenger but driver" loading on the track.

I wrote a white paper on the installation - send a note to info@electronikrepair.com if you'd like ot see it.

Thanks guys, I'll think I'll go with something like John V placement or the spare tire well.

I also need to check how much space I have in the right fender well, it might fit there as I'm going to delete the washer tank.

Ok, I like the rear bumper best, add the weight at the rear and pretty low, which is nice.

Louis, I noticed that you have a switch mounted on the electric valve, why? Is it just as an extra security thing that you might want to turn it off for some reason?

Thanks for the quick response!

Louie did an outstanding job running the lines and mounting his accusump inside the bumper. He has a knack for finding great places to place his equipment...
He's probably not ready to show off his oil cooler placement yet...

Yes. The switch is to turn it off. I only used the Accusump if I was at the track. I found it too uncertain to determine how much oil I actually had in the sump with the Accusump turned on. With hot engine and at idle, maybe 1.5 bar pressure, the accusump doesn't hold a lot of oil. Turn off the engine and check oil level and you have a lot of oil in the sump. Maybe even over the full mark. Rev the engine before shutting it off, or even if the engine isn't very hot when you shut it off, and the higher oil pressure will fill the Accusump and your sump oil level will be low. Truthfully, I could never figure out how the sump level should be. Over full at lower pressure (not much in the Accusump), or a quart low with the Accusump full. Probably tend toward over full at idle pressure, but it was disconcerting to see the oil level above the full mark. Guess I worry too much...
I have a lot more pics of the install and oil line routing if you, or anyone else, is interested.

Yes, I'm intrested in the pictures, please do post them.

I'll have an switch in the driving compartment to turn the accusump on when going to the track. Normal driving I'll just keep it shut off.
