Default valuation of '85 Euro 5 speed?

My (fickle) friend Bill is considering moving up to a GT or GTS, and may sell his '85 euro 5 speed.
info: 28K original miles, silver w/ black int, original unrestored condition. Has rebuilt Bilsteins, new brake pads, TB/WP, original phone dials and S4 flats, complete Borla system from manifolds back. Newer Blaupunct and original radio. Has lojack. Very original car, 28K actual miles and one owner from '85 to '04. No accidents/paint work. A/C works, everything else works.
Any guesses? Sorry no pics. All my pics have disappearerd from my computer.

Sounds like a very nice find.....concours type car....is that 28K miles since it was federalized or 28K miles total on the car (might be hard to determine?)....values on Euros are a little harder to determine...but it is a 310hp Euro S 5 speed in excellent shape.... 12-20K in my opinion all depending how bad you want it....& if you don't someone else here will!

I'd say that's the "ballpark" without seeing the car.

Carl;

If I remember correctly he paid well under 10k for it. If he's looking for a GT or GTS have him email me, I may want to trade...

If it really is a 28,000 mile car and very nice it really should be worth more like $15,000 to the right person. It has the Borg Warner box,Low Euro gears, 310 hp ,LH mass air injection, ... In many ways it is like a GT !

The car was federalized in '85 and the mileage is real.
Scott: I think you are remembering my car, it was $7K but has gone up by about $10k more... He paid a fair price for it, and had a tech do a TB/WP job. He's into it for maybe $17K, but knows how special it is. I would love to have it as a 2nd 928, no less great than my S4. I love the car, all it is lacking is S4 brakes, and those can be upgraded when DR's brackets come out.

A lister got a similar one last year for a lot less than 15k, it was low mileage and 5spd and in excellent condition. It was originally for sale for 14,500 and did not sell for a long time. When it did sell, it was for a lot less than 15k.

In my opinion 28,000 miles is more than just low mileage it is super low mileage ! But to many it is just another 20 year old car !

Sounds like a great car.

What is the exterior condition? Interior cosmetics? It seems to be top-notch from a mechanical side, but those cosmetics can get into some $$$

BTW - My brake upgrade is STILL the best upgrade I have done to my car. (of course - DR hasn't finished the 16v SC kit yet!!!)

I happen to be just a BIT biased towards the '85 EUROs, tho!

That was redUFO's red euro. I was on the trail of that car for myself, but was a few days behind him. That was a good deal for that car. One cool thing about the euro 5 speed is the tranny gears, 2.73 and not 2.20 like Jim said.
I told my friend that to a rennlister/savvy 928er it's worth maybe $15-20K, he says more like $25k. I hope he's right, but 928s are very undervalued.
Mark: it is nice, no cracking/fading or anything and even the original speakers are 100%. Your 951 is the deal of the century from what you told me at Frenzy .

Unfortunately Red had to put some serious money into her - It turns out, one of the cams was broke or broke after for whatever reason. (At the end) - Im thinking after he bought it.

With the rims he bought and the upgraded stereo he bput in and polished spider - his shark is looking ssssswwweeeeetttt. I keep asking him if he wants to trade for my S4 !

25k is way too high IMO but again its a buyers market - Who knows but the best of luck to the sale.

IMO, the gear ratio thing is way over-rated - different topic.

I was looking at Red's car before he bought it. I was real close to buying it when I found the S3 in my avatar. A month later Red bought the Euro.

That sucks he had the cam issue. I saw the car when he drove it back from Georgia and it is a really nice example.

If that car is as described 15k may be fair price to the right buyer. Surely many marks above most Euro's out there on there market.

I have a saying, "it's not a good deal unless both parties feel like they got screwed a little"

Hope you get a good deal, and the car finds a good home!
