Weissach #1 FS: Now he's indicating some flexibility...

Take a Hike? :surr:
Sorry, but I live in Takoma Park MD, about an hour from the 928 in question. Although my first post here was about this car, I've been signed on, learning and lurking here since May - not a long time, but not the day or week before I posted.
My perspective was that I saw an unusual 928, thought it might be interesting, and I felt it was finally an opportunity to make a little contribution to this community.
My recollection of the end of the first thread was that the vehicle was way overpriced and the seller was not willing to move on price, so when he readvertised with an indication that there was some wiggle room I thought it newsworthy.
I don't know how to establish that I posted in good faith, but I've been a participant over on the PPBoxsterBoard for over five years and I think any of the deputies there will tell you I am a standup guy. I guess you can google me.
Sorry if I seemed like I was shilling this car, I was just trying to make a little contribution.

Tom,
You sound legit - it is easy to jump to the other conclusion - no offence.

First of all, you have to make the assumption that these cars will be worth something
someday. Second, you have to assume that the #1 car will be significantly more valuable
than the #2, #3, etc... Some of these have already been restored. Is it really worth it to
restore this one? Not unless you have a lot of money laying around... And time...
And access to the parts to make it complete and original... I just don't think it's
worth it.

I bought an 83 euro 4 or 5 yrs. ago that was twice as bad as this one. I paid 2000.00 for it and over 6 mos. sunk in another 8500.00. I t was beautiful when done and ran like a scalded cat. I sold it to buy my s4 and managed to get 8000.00 on ebay. that is a tidy profit of negative 2500.00. It was worth it to me-alot of enjoyment with that car!

Hmmm... car wouldn't fire, so they tried an UNGROUNDED coil.... brilliant bit of electrical ingenuity there.
"No, it couldn't possibly be the swamp in the dashboard or the fossilized fuel causing it... just jam the frammitz to the watchamacallit and crank it over..."

I do think the current seller is dreaming at that price.. if it had original paint/badges/stickers and luggage then maybe 50k, but given the original photos Roger got from Greg, none of that stuff is intact so only the vin number makes the car at all interesting.
