The extruded aluminum bars are the ticket. I'm sure they are lighter than the thick walled steel pipes that replaced them. Some titanium tubing or chromoly would be nice! The pipe is very simple, just squashed and rolled over ends. Two smaller, thin walled pipes, attached at the two bolt holes, maybe.

What I want for the doors is a 911RS style door panel. Pull straps, and mesh bag on a flat leather covered plastic or aluminum panel. Vinyl or leather over foam for the rear interior and roof.

You can still have the bottom section of the rear seats without the center brackets, just not a full back rest.

Where's the Canucks with the fiberglass hatch?!
