Hi Bill,
>My experience is that the cheery bombs, if you mean glasspacks, are NOT more free flowing than cats.
I agree... BUT these puppys would be....

Ernest,
>Looks like some sacrifice of ground clearance will be necessary.
Nope, as I said before, it would not be as low as the front spoiler, sway bar mounts, front lower control arms AND rear lower control arms.

Bill,
Here is some specs on those "M80s"
Ultra-Light Stainless muffler features:
Remarkably light-weight
Extremely durable
Built to the highest quality standards.
100% stainless construction
Completely TIG welded
Easily replaceable aerospace ceramic muffling cartridge
Inside diameters from 2” all the way to 5”
Can be built to custom length (as short as 6”, at extra cost)
The one I would spec only weighs 1.87lbs each, yes less than 2lbs each!

I had a cherry bomb that matched the stock S4 exhaust and the inside opening appeared to be the same. People might expect since the center of the cherry bomb is completely open it must be pretty free flowing, but the overall size is smaller than the cat and the glass area disturbs flow a lot more than the cat honeycomb. Anyway, DR's found something that looks far more substantial, but it needs to be checked for flow versus a cat.

You may not have seen the specs above I just posted yet.. "Easily replaceable aerospace ceramic muffling cartridge"

Ceramic....OK. Not sure the implications for flow. I edited after post. Anyway, I didn't mean to divert the thread from the wild side exhaust discussion it morphed into. Carry on!

>I think DR was refering to the easily replaceable part... or easily removable.
Both. If you notice in the photos one end has screws so you can remove one end and replace the ceramic muffling element.
> It's probably a straight through like the Borlas and Magnaflows.
Photos are worth a thousand words.....

Ernest,
>Don't think Sidepipe Wayne had any clearance problems. And it was loud.
Sidepipes are a different subject than "Side Exit" :-)

With side exit, you don't get to cook steak over the door sills.
Next SITM will be very interesting, sez Sgt. Schulz.

You mean "calf steak" don't you?

That's an UNDERSTATEMENT!
