Default Motorsport X-over sales

I just thought I'd clear some things up since I have had a few concerned inquires. We have not stopped retail sales of the X-over and development continues on the "Y" and cat back systems. 928 Motorsports is a warehouse distributor for our systems and a valueable asset to our sales.

We appreciate Carl jumping on the bandwagon and assisting us in selling them to his customers and we give him full support. We also may be selling some of his products to our customers soon.

We have some really cool packages being developed that will build on the horsepower gains of the X-over. We want a n/a 300+rwhp S4 in every garage!

Our website will be populated soon as we have an expert (my oldest son) starting the first of the year.

Cool Dave!! Are you going to put one of those 300+HP S4's under the Christmas tree for me?

Gimme a very reasonable 21/2 cat back system to go with the x over and you've got yerself a sale!

It's already in testing Ernest...the first version sounded way too cool to me but was probably too loud for the public without cats. With cats it had a really great sound, I liked it a lot but I don't run cats. We have had some Spintech mufflers constructed to our specifications that will also be a replacement for stock mufflers. They are quieter than the standard Spintech's and should be more "politically correct". We saw 11hp and 15'#'s of torque on the 86.5' with just the cat back system on the stock cats. When we combined the cat back with the X-over the car went too lean and horsepower gains were minimal. There is a cure for that though...

Dave,
I've got an adjustable FPR with your X pipe on my GT. Care to ESTIMATE what the 21/2" cat back system, no cats and adequate fuel pressure MIGHT give in the way of HP??

Believe it or not I have seen 10hp discrepencies between factory sets of 87' mufflers. I could find no physical reason without disecting them but it was proven on the dyno. We suddenly lost 10 hp in our tuning and the only thing we changed was the factory 87' cat back with another 87' factory cat back. Switched back and regained the horsepower.

Anyway...with proper fuel tuning I would expect to see another 10hp, maybe more as your car is abnormally strong and must have more exhaust flow. The more the restriction, the better the gains will be with the 2.5" catback system. If you are running bone stock they will be in the 10+hp range, if you are doing 500rwhp and the factory system is a bottleneck then I'd expect to see much more. I'd like to see your GT in the 325rwhp range...

Dave,

your x-over pipe with no cats is the best upgrade I have made to my early 86 32V.
It sounds sweet especially when the revs climb over 3k. Tell me what you are working on for my car for the rest of the exhaust system. Currently I have the stock system after your x-over.
I'am still interested in that euro pulley of yours if it's rebulit.

Regards Rich

Thanks much Richard! We haven't had a complaint yet on the X-over other than it may be a bit loud with an RMB which I consider a compliment...

Dave..............do you believe that there's a horsepower gain/loss with a rear muffler vs a RMB. I'm currently running the X with GT resonators and a RMB............if there was no snow that is!

Love the sound!!!

In my case the neither the rear muffler nor the cats made any difference in HP (separately, not together).

I have not tested the RMB on a dyno as of yet, I know it really helps the "feel" of speed as it sounds so good but as for seat of the pants horsepower increases, I cannot say.

It is a well recognized medical fact that the assometer is directly connected to the earometer.

Ernest........yes indeed, as well as the older I get the faster I was

I was going to refit the rear muffler but love the sound too much..........if we go on our extended trip next year in the car I may consider again. Now when is the DR & Jeannie get together?
