Hi Tony,

Thans for the kind words of support.. It has been a very arduous road..

Anyway, I am planning on putting a Porsche crest in the "middle" of the "H" crossover, and the lettering may read "Posrche" "DOHC 32V" or "Porsche 32V, 4Cam V8...." to keep things simple.

Still undecided on lettering, but that's minor compared to some other things still being resolved...

There are some minor ancilliary fabrication things to get done, and some more measuring for some parts that are yet to be made. (Not the SC setup, but other supporting pieces like the AWIC tank, and plumbing of the lines for the AWIC, and the throttle body parts, and a few other items..)

Anyway, still a bit to do....

Maybe I can make a pink and purple setup for you..!

I was thinking that the lettering could be red or yellow, with all the pieces black anodize.... But, I could make the lettering anything I want... Decisions, decisions...........

We shall see....

Oh, for those who already have a TS setup, all that would have to be done, is bolt on the manifold with the AWIC setup, and use the existing supercharger... It's modular, and I designed it to be that way.... In addition, the SC mounting plate can be cut to fit any TS blower out there, as it is all in CAD... I would just need the measurements...

I will also make a 7.5 inch dia. lower pulley like I currently have... I bought mine many years ago, but the vendor is no longer around, and I can get an 8 rib drawn in CAD and made as well..

I may do that when I go to the Motec setup, as the compressors are upgradeable to the 2.6, and or 2.8 compressors.... The torque-table is really interesting on the larger compressors, and it is a really wide powerband....!

Thanks again for the kind words...!

This is the rear caliper... Fronts are a bit larger, with some more pistons..... Wheels, schmeels, I have fitment issues to resolve...

It's late, I gotta get some sleep....

Thanks Darien, but I'm already at the 15k RPM limit with my current setup at redline, so I don't want to push it further.

Richard that is B... E... A... UTIFUL!! I say go with the porsche names above the coolers and the emblem in the center. It will then resemble the stock and look hot. Personally I think that paint and colors is not the way to go. I like to see alluminum, and if the Porsche is cut out it will be that much cooler

Wouldn't it make more sense to first make a prototype, without all the lettering and stuff and when all the bugs are ironned out, concentrate on the esthatics?

Hi Imre,

Without modern CAD software, it would be done this way. With the power of the new programs (My engineer is using the latest release of Solidworks, and it is really amazing) you can rapid prototype in CAD, and cut the metal last. There is no reason to leave aesthetics for the end. It will only take a few minutes for the CNC machine to scribe letters on the cover while cutting the rest of the shape and fillets etc...

In addition, when I send the pieces for hard anodize, I want it all to be done, as it will be much more difficult to put pieces back in the CNC to scribe a few letters after fitting. The anodize also adds thickness to the material, and I think that I would have to setup the CNC again to accomodate the thickness of the anodize.

In addition, the cover is not a critical part, there is one critical part, which is the base plate that secures the entire assembley to the heads. this is already routed in MDF, and I will be checking a rough clearance over the weekend on my spare motor sitting in a crate in the garage. (Maybe this is what you're eluding to...?)

The parts are designed to be modular, like Lego blocks. They all fit together with O-Rings, and ALL mated surfaces have surface roughness specifications that the CNC is able to interpret to absolutely ensure there is no leakage of coolant, or air as determined by the engineer.

I have measured many, many times, and rechecked all the fitments in CAD. The width and height certainly fit under the hood with the revised design I did in the past two months..

The only thing that needs a bit of art forming is the air intake to the throttle body. This will be easily remedied, as the base measurements are already done, and once the assembley is secured to the head, the intake adapter will be made.

I will still have lots of things to do before I start the car, and do not anticipate any further setbacks on the main assembley. All clearances and interferences to 5 thousandth's of an inch, and less in many places have been checked by the CAD program. This include fastener specification and type. (eg. M6 X 1.0 X 25 Socket head cap screw, or M8X1.0X40 Stud with hex nut attached etc., and interference to other parts or material strength or weakness...)

I laser scanned a critical surface of an entire 32V head into CAD so I could check clearances etc. The scan data is accurate to 5 thousandth's of an inch...

Thanks for the thought though.. Hopefully I have explained it clearly enough. I'll post pictures as I progress, and probably make a new thread with all the things done to the car..

Cheers,

Blau928 I do not wish to intercept this thread but i have an older question to ask the guys with the Keel kit.
So sorry mate I have to ask the question.
In this thread earlier it was spoken in some length about the flutter on idle caused by or suspicion of the bypass unit being coupled into the No6 cylinder at the intake manifold.
Was anything clarified in the end
I know Tony went to quite some extreme to make a diffuser type of thing into that intake port.
I too have the symptom that does not appear to be as bad on start up but exagerates on warm/hot idle.
Has this issue been re-visited or have we let sleeping giants lie.
I did revisit this thread and couldnt seem to find an answer, the trail seemed to go cold.

On a side note I have just replaced my TPS from the S4 type with the hole drilled in the back to the correct TPS for the TB we are running and on start up the flutter did not appear to be there.
I will run it into work tomorrow and see if it has cleared it up.
I doubt it has fixed it but I noticed a difference in the idle immediately although i didnt go for a run in the car as I had 2 other cars to move to get it out....lazy huh...!

Peter .... I believe the answer to your problem is in this thread. I remember reading that someone else had the same issue. Look way back around page 60. It was from the bypass port being close to a cylinder. The resolution was to put a j shaped pipe in the intake manifold for the bypass connection and pointing it away form that cylinder.

Victor
what a mission but I found it back on page 17-21
The answer is not in the thread.
Through PM's i am aghast of the outcome and solution.

So, as I get closer, just curious about comments on this part and its lettering. It is what you will see when the hood is opened, as it will cover the entire assembley... The cutout in the center is for a Porsche Hood crest that will be epoxied in place...

Thanks

Thanks Ken..!

Your aero mods are pretty cool too.. I have to get to that after all the motor stuff...

Talking

Richard,

With all the power you are going to be making I would put aero at the end of the list too.

Best regards,

Ken
