Default Fuel Press Reg 84 vs 87?

Are there differences? I cannot see physical differences, but of course part numbers differ and Int'l list 80-86 and 87 separately.

Damn Matt that is wonderful of you. ... I have inadvertently had an '84 unit crimped into my nice shiny new S4 fuel lines. So I guess I'm going to visit the hose shop soon again

I could see how that would be a problem... unless you wanted to stick 24lb injectors in your S4.

I think it would be an option, but you might want to get a more experienced opinion. S2s, S3s and S4s are all around the same HP. S2s and S3s run 24lb and the lower pressure regulator. S4s run 19lb and the higher pressure regulator. You could run some of the Ford 4 nozzle injectors. That's my plan once I get S3 rails installed.

I need an earlier unit for my S4 project. Andy spec's the 24 lb injectors/ early regulator with is Autorotor kit.
You guys have a spare one kicking around?

Brian so, that reg allows higher fuel pressure.... Wonder how that would affect 19lb injectors.

The older unit is lower pressure (30-36psi IIRC) for use with 24lb injectors. The newer unit is higher pressure (47-55psi) for use with 19lb injectors.

Brian, I don't have one now but may next week.

keep in mind that the two regulators are used with the up to 50psi system (adjusted up with the adjustable regulator) and only one is used with the single regulator system on the s4 and the pressure is close to the same. to make things more complicated, the fuel pump pressure , i think, is greater at the source.
