Default Gasket sealer, where and when?

I'm reassembling my intake spider (man are those bolts a PITA) and I'm wondering if gasket sealer on the new gaskets is needed or if it a no-no.

Actually that's the only place I'm wondering, I have no more gaskets to install.

Sealer is IMHO O in concert with gaskets. Usually.

Don't use any sealant. I'd go towards the "no-no" side as well since the spider often comes off. You wanna clean that off and get new gaskets next time?

And be really careful with the torque on those bolts: 20Nm!

Snap-On makes a very low profile 13mm swivel socket - makes removing the spider a piece of cake. I just put mine back in in less than 15 minutes earlier today. Well worth the $30 price tag. While your at it, they also make a very low profile flat head screwdriver that is about 18" long. Makes reaching the clamps under the spider much easier, as well as the other 2,000 clamps on these engines.

Alright, thanks guys. I don't know what's up with these bolts. I'm thinking some of the gasket cleaner gunked up the threads I'm not sure anti-seize would help. I had one of those ratcheting crescent wrenches that would be perfect for this job, but I can't find the damn thing.
