Bill,

>Where's the nearest dragstrip?

There is an airstrip about a mile from me. It is the small municpal type airport for my area and I have never really seen anyone there. I have been considering going by and asking if I could use it for some "safer" testing (0-100 etc..) of my system anyway so I could also see if we can rent it for a few hours for SITM. The strip is nice and wide and level except for the last 3rd which is uphill (perfect for slowing down).

Oh, it would also be perfect for a "burnout" contest too :-)

The funny thing is that I know the airstrip has been used this way before. My 60+ year old neighbor has done motorcycle Wheelie exhibitions there a few years ago. He does wheelies the whole length of the airstrip on a dirt bike as he goes thru all the gears!!!

Yup, once the local gov't buy's off on it, it's just a matter of issuing the Notam and putting some big white "X's" on the approach end of the runway's. Of course if it's a private strip you could cut to the chase pretty quickly...
