Jager GTRSS?

Definitely for your 928 to rock off the line you need the cables adjusted to get throttle - WOT first, then the bowden cable (cable back to trans) to be adjusted/installed just on the border of tension. The cables stretch with use.
The GTRSS switch fires the relay in the trans and effectively takes a chunk out of the bowden cable - just like making it shorter, to prompt kickdown on partial throttle application. The tighter your bowden cable, the more sensitive to the GTRSS button and quicker it will kickdown.
The stock GTRSS you press once, and there is a short delay circuit at least in later cars. Optionally we can spec a time hold relay that will keep the kickdown applied for a number of seconds.
There has to be sufficient pump pressure for the trans to shift down and not slip, so there must be some throttle application there and the Bowden cable not too tight. Personally I find constant and easy kicking down goes against the principle of the GT and impacts fuel economy.
It took quite a bit of time to gel the GTRSS solution - one that dove tails and enhances the 928 experience as if it was a factory specification. Installation is pretty straightforward with one minor and invisible modfication, so return to stock is easy.

This sounds like a very interesting mod!
On my '88 I tightened the trans/throttle cable to get that more snappy kick-down effect, and result was that it kicked down, BUT over time the cable was always too tight, and it broke! $$$
this approach is very cool.

I dont even use my kickdown switch any more unless im at the drag strip.. Once you get the hang of manually tossing about the automatic it makes the trannys automatic kickdown seem slow.
In traffic at 60mph, simultanioulsy floor it AND just toss the selector full aft into "2". Much quicker.
It would be a good idea to know your cars max speed in each gear as well.

Much as there was plenty of hate for him after the whole bike/biggs/kie/sailmed escapade, there are usually very serious emotional issues to the circumstances he engaged himself in, often driven by childhood abuse issues.
Hopefully he didn't end up killing himself or in jail, and instead joined the small % of people with mental health issues who found enough counselling and support to overcome his situation.

Here are a couple of photo's of Ross ( Whitefox) in happier times. The story behind this photo is that Ross had been a "no show" at quite a few event's where he had said he would attend. So at this get together, I had taken a photo of Ross that I found on Myspace and blew it up. I then mounted them on sticks so that no matter what, Ross would appear in all the pictures that night. Ross did show up thanks to Crazy Mike (Firemed) giving him a ride in the back seat of the his 1979 928, the "Grey Ghost".

Holy **** - that's the kid alright. What are the odds we would learn about this exactly a year after he died?
He went out in a blaze of glory!

A few years ago somebody posted his rap sheet here - that boy was headed for a bad end!
Prior convictions in Manatee and Sarasota counties include petty theft, reckless driving, driving on a suspended license, resisting arrest, possession of narcotics equipment, operating a motorcycle without a license, resisting arrest with violence and vehicle grand theft.
