Thanks guys. I already tried Jaquemond but I didn't get a response. The universal kits are what I'm looking at currently, but I am worried that there is some problem with fitment and that I will end up with jacked up doors. I was hoping to find someone who had a kit for the 928 or at least had experience with it. I suppose I will just have to sack up and go for it. Should be interesting. Auto-lock has an automated version of the vertcal doors. They work with linear actuators instead of gas struts. Extra couple of pimp factor points with those kits.

Last year I was looking at the "Lambo" or vertical doors at car shows asking owners if I could open and close their doors. Overall I felt that all of the cars felt quite odd, in that you have to pop the door open a few inches then lift up. I found all the movements to be just a bit loose feeling compared to the stiffness and precision of factory hinges, and many of the cars did not align up perfectly while closing the doors creating a feeling that they would also make noises as you drove...
The interesting thing about the Strosek kit was that it appeared to not pivot about a single point, but be on normal hinges at the door posts.

Let me give it a shot, we have kept in touch ever since I sold him my car when I left Germany. I'll see if he still carries the parts.

Weren't the Stroseks butterfly doors? I think the butterfly doors would be better for a 928 than the fake Lambo door kits.

Yes, they were what I would call butterfly doors, though I've seen them called gullwings too.

Thanks CMXXVIII S . I would appreciate that.

I consider Gullwing doors to be the type of doors that go straight out to the side and up. The ones that were on the Delorean and on the Mercedes 111 .There is at least one 928 with true gullwings but that required major body mods because they tied part of the roof into the door. The deathnight site and fat bully's site both have pics of them. The Jaquemond and Strosek doors were kind of a hybrid between gullwing and vert. I think they looked very nice on the 928.

Finaly, and update from strosek, here is a copy of the important parts of the email:

1. How large a wheel can both the mild and wide body
fenders accommodate?

we used for standard body
front 8.5Jx17"offset 56
rear 10Jx17" offset 48

for mild body ( Ultra Version I)
front 9Jx17" offset 50
rear 10 Jx17" offset 48 + 21 mm wheel spacers

for Ultra Version wide body
front 9J x 17" offset 31
rear 10Jx17" offset - 15,3

Same sizes are for 18" wheels

2. Which versions of the mirrors are still available,
and are they all the same price?

Available are the mirrors seen on the yellow car and
the mirrors for the Porsche 993, you have to use the standard mirror
base-plate
( please have a look at our website)

price is the same, but please note that we can only grant a discount of
30%

3. What the installation procedure for the hood vents,
and is there any published or tested heat reduction
results.

Cut out original metal sheet (template), they have to be glued in
with a special epoxy glue)
A lot of 928 drivers ( we too) tested them and they all have been
very satisfied

4. Is the version 3 wide body, as seen in the photo I
forwarded you, still available, if so, at what cost?

We are sorry, but we can not offer the Version 3 any more,
but the Ultra Version is the same with updated side skirts.
We offer 2 wide body kits : Ultra Version I and Ultra Version

5. What is the cost for the cup style front end?
the price is the same + costs for indicators and lights
( or only indicators)

6. Is the scissor/Lamborghini style door conversion
kit available?

We never could provide the Ultra wings as a kit, we did
the conversion in our factory, sorry

7. Does the Ultra hatch use stock interior items, or
does it need to be custom upholstered?

The hatch back can be used for all 928 models.
It is made out of two halfs, exterior and interior ( it comes out of
a sandwich- mould)
The interior is black structure coated, but you can
do a leather upholstery if you want to.

8. How much does the Ultra hatch weigh, and does it
come with rear glass?

We do not know it exactly we think about 18 kg, it comes with
a glass window

9. Does the ultra hatch glass have a defroster element
if it is glass?

It is not necessary to have a defroster element

If there are more questions, i will be happy to forward them. I personaly am going to find out fitment procedure of the the a-pillar mount mirrors as seen on the cup car.

Fabio,
I got a reply from Olivier Jacquemond. He said that they never took their doors past the prototype stage, and don't have any parts left over.

Sorry.

Thanks CMXXVIII S . I appreciate you asking. I think I am still going to go for it. I'll keep doing internet research and will try to talk to as many owners of these style doors as possible.
Thanks again

When they say "soft" when describing the fenders what do they mean?

Some people really need to get in on this for the benefit of everyone who wants some of these parts.

The "soft" rear fenders can be seen on the Ultra Version 1 pictures. They look similar to GTS flares in size, but follow the wheel opening so are more arched.

What kind of material do we think this "soft" stuff is?

I would like to buy one of those front bumper covers if it will fit my car but I can't get an answer? I'm painting the car in 2 weeks so I'd like to get it in the pipeline asap.
