Hi all,

Does it contain prices?

Yes, it's searchable -- click the button that has horizontal lines and a scrollbar, then select ATP. This allows you to search for a part number. The word search is flakey, don't bother. For prices, I think you have to get a version from Porsche, not sure what-all is involved in that.

Brett, I tried PET 5, but couldn't get the screen resolution to run it correctly, so I purchased PET 6 from 928 International. Main difference I think is PET 6 runs as PDF file with acro reader.

(I'm a Brett myself (Mom fancied Roger Moore in the Persuaders apparently) known to friends and family as Bert though....

Oh... there is actually a PET6 program. It's very much like PET5, has nothing to do with Acrobat. That's what I thought you meant.

Hi BERT (Brett)..

You HAVE to set resolution for Pet 5 to 1280 x 1024 for it to work...BEFORE starting Pet 5 ..but there can be a problem if you are using a flat screen TFT as some of the cheaper ones have limited resolution of either 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768...usually you need a high quality 17 inch or 19 inch TFT to run 1280 x 1024.

Hope this helps,

Brett

Only running a 15" Dell TFT monitor..... Cheaper to buy PET 6 than a new monitor!

PET comes if two totally different formats, program and PDF. PET5 and 6 are both versions of the program variant. PDF version is totally different as Dave says.

Both PET5 and 6 can have different data updates in them. I have seen version 5 with update 126 and version 6 with updates 165 and 168. Later number means later data including newer models and possible part revisions to older models.

There is at least two versions of PDF CD also. One has only ROW and USA files while other has German explosion diagram files too. German files are in German language while ROW and US are in English. German files might be later addition and current CD's available from Porsche can have those. Earlier CD did have only ROW and USA diagrams. These PDF's are basically prints from program PET that are printed to PDF files instead of on paper.

On some PET5 versions it was possible to get UK prices visible by renaming one file. I haven't seen same possiblity on any of the PET6 available. Copying price file from version 5 to 6 doesn't seem to work. There certainly aren't prices on PDF's Porsche sells. I think separate price CD could be available, or eventually come available. There existed spare part number for such disc several months ago but it wasn't available back then.

At least one version of each (PET5, PET6 and PDF) is freely downloadable from net.

Since PDF version is available at very reasonable cost I'd rather not give out link in here. Download page where those files are ziped is easy enough to find with google for example.
