So what do the Euro LH cars (4.7) do for a RMB? The thing looks huge and none of my 928s have ever had the orginal muffler.
It looks like it goes 1 into one cat, back into 2 into the rear muffler? Freaky, and looks very restrictive, even if it is pretty boomy already.
Any BTDTs?

the cat under that car is an add on for federalization only. The late two in two out cat like off your S-4 works well to replace the factory premuffler used on Euro cars. Oh that reminds me you will probably need to register that car not in California the ZZZ in the vin # usually wigs out the DMV computer.

The weld on the cat looks like a drunk monkey did it. So I'll assume it was government. We'll if I don't register it here I'll have an excuse to put a X-pipe on it.
Too bad that two in two out cat from the S4 was long gone two moves ago.

The car originally had a 2in 2out muffler where your cat is. You could buy a Magnaflow Tru-x core 2in 2out muffler to get some muffling without restriction and some X-pipe effects.

I did what Jim reccommended. I also switched to 85/86 manifolds at the same time (required lengthening the cat-to-manifold pipe on one side). It's actually quieter at idle, but you get a lot of that passing power back.

i plan on installing a magnaflow duel in/out "true-x" muffler in the area the cat would be and then running the duels out the rear. i was wondering if there would be any benefit in x-ing the pipes anywhere beyond the cat area.
