Electrically, I have no idea. Physically, I don't think you'll get it to fit where the old air pump was/is because of the mounts on the back of the tensioner. Why not just mount it in the standard alternator location?

I talked to these guys a few months ago. They told me they could rebuild any alternator and spin it to the output that you want it. Chrome it, or paint it any color to make it look new as well (Restoration)

No affiliation, they seemed to know their stuff over the phone. Anyone have any luck with these guys?

This sounds like a good solution. No connectors, brackets or pulleys to worry about.

No need to tear up your 928 to squeeze a Delco part - Here is another source of rebuilt alternators and starters.

I wouldn't mind relocating the alternator from that position of vulnerability, though......

Anybody out there got a dead S4 alternator that I could send them for up-rating??

Will the CS-130 "Iceberg" Alt fit? (Larger rear housing). I'm tired of the Bosch dying after few years. The Delco is 105 or 140 amps. Cheaper and runs cooler.
I bought a kit at the end of December and after phone calls still have not received it.

When the vendor bothers to answer the phone (no vmail), I get excuses of parts for the kit are on back order.

I think it is time to call my credit card company and find out what my options are in cancelling this.

Dan - do you have a part number - I am sure I can get one for you.

It is a rebuild kit they sell. It has a clever finned heat sink where the rectifier bridge is. They claim a patent.

Did the CS130 Mod to mine a few years ago following the steps outlined in the link below. AFAIK this can only fit the 16 valve style alternator bracket, and you will likely need a slightly smaller belt. The guide recommended just running with the bolt through the tension bracket with tension(read: Pushing the alt in the other direction) applied before tightening which worked for me, but i've found that if you take a spare air pump tensioning bolt, it will do the trick as well to keep tension on it. Eye screws from Either the AC Compressor/Air pump (999 460 003 02 or 999 460 002 02 respectively, the 2nd being slightly smaller which is a better fit for the M8 bolt)

Oh I already have a Delvo installed.

I'm looking for higher output and much better hot performance.
