Nyyone here ever seen one of these in person. How would you evaluate the leather quality and craftsmanship?

FWIW, I had the gear lever leather replaced on my 928. I was there when the guy did it; the challenging bit was to get the stitching to look original, as well as getting it tight and durable, all the way up to where the **** is.
The one you refer to, looks unoriginal from my limited knowledge since the leather stops half way up (and as such, easier to make). For quality one really need it in hand, unless you can refer to exactly where they got it from (source country of leather, company). There's so much variation, both in grain, thickness and smoothness.

I had good luck here---->Alan Gunn Leather Accessories
Still not as nice as a factory GTS shift **** and boot, but I'm happy with it.
