I peruse every board. Not just this one. 951, 944, 996, 997, GT2.

We talk about modifications, wheel sizing,, brakes, interior, etc right? When something breaks, we have to find the parts to fix it. We usually try to get it from a known vender, and they usually dog-gone have it!

996 board today - guy says his trans may be gone.

What? Its not servicable possibly? Not yet? More and more the 996 board is looking like ours. Things are breaking. People are trying to turn back time. (99 was the first year - some are 7 years old)

Weird. I hope these guys can stay enthusiasts. I could say they are throw away cars, but they aren't. Porsche will have to open the parts cataloug soon. The posers will move to the 997s and the diehards will keep thier 996s and become ...us.

Everybody whines that the 986 and 996 look too similar, but it's their parts compatibility that will help them years from now.
