no... one of the provisions of the HS-7 is that you NOT sell it while it's here

nope...you'd have to go thru the same process as if you were importing from UK, Germany etc

These guys do not give up. The government knows all ways that people try to get around them. Trust me, take any one of them and it will be 3 times longer and 10 times more expensive.

agreed... you also may get fined and have the car seized for attempting to circumvent the process

The key line is Rixter's..."f) ... pay the bond of 150% of the value of the car" Your bond deposit is not returned until the process is completed or the car exported. Same for race cars brought in for a race like F-1 at Indy no money back until it leaves! getting around it would require something like swapping vin numbers and exporting a different car which is very illegal...

That brings up something the guy importing the british cars showed me. Two of his cars had two VIN plates. He said it's common in Britain because of road tax. (Is that true?) DOT used the one that Britain used. On both cars that was the false one. One of which was older than the truth. The other was newer. On both cars, both plates were visible and it was obvious which was original. Somebody could slap on a VIN plate from an 80 or earlier car onto this S2, reregister it in the UK, remove the SC setup, then ship it over here as a 25+ year old car.

won't happen... the vin is stamped into the uni body and would be caught
unless you want to do some cutting/welding..

These cars had both the original and 'new' VINs visible. They weren't hidden at all. The guy also has a late 80's MG Turbo-somethingorother that is supposed to just be a show car. It's permanently here and he drives it.

UK 928's have as Rixter said a vin stamped on the unibody(same as yours) which is on your Pass. side fender/hood joint + the sliver plate riveted near the hood latch ,we have no other vins like your door jam sticker or the dash vin.
The vins MUST match in the UK, if not it would have a stolen vin attached or 2 car halves welded together

Both of these cars had two plates riveted next to each other by the latch under the hood. I didn't look anywhere else.
