The core itself might flow that...the interesting part is the CFM @ xx" in the bench with the end tanks on it...

The easiest way to get a rough estimated would be to go on one of the 1/4 mile estimation web sites. Plug in all the numbers you have (HP, Weight...etc.) and it will give you a fair estimate of what you might get. Assuming you can get a fairly good launch at the start.

Spearco rates it at 1010cfm, 650hp capacity @ 1.0-1.5 @ 15psi with only 6ps-worth of heat to dissipate, that's an over-kill intercooler.

Anyone in the South-Texas area up to meeting me at Seguin (drag strip) next Wednesday night? I should have the intercooler fabrication complete & the system ready to shoot for mid 'teens come next Wednesday

Mid ‘teens? Is that a Texas term for somewhere between thirteen and nineteen ?????? I hope you are faster that that.

All joking aside, if the clutch holds, what are you shooting for?

If my clutch holds, I think a 12.7 @ 115-6 is not out of the question. @ 5.8psi, I don't think I can ask for more than that. Once the clutch is in, I'll move up to 8psi with my custom software & shoot for low 120's

I agree it is unconventional in comparison to a factory design; it seems to be typical for an "aftermarket" setup. One of the problems with your arrangement is, the incoming air will go everywhere but through your little intercooler. Just because the airflow is hitting the front of the core, does not mean that there is much air flowing through it.

I have this size intercooler because of the boost I'm running. If you are running 12+psi of boost, you would need this size intercooler. What you want is a large intercooler with a large volume of air going through it. Ergo, my design.

I wonder how many seconds your turbo equipped car will RUN.

Hi Jim, maybe we should line our two cars up, see how many seconds it takes...

That would be tonite. Are you still doing this, Mark? I don't want to lose any sleep tonite anticipating the results, if its not gonna happen now.

Seriously though, I like big intercoolers, but personally, I don't want to take the risk of putting "too big" of an intercooler on a 928 in particular. If Jim wants to do this, fine, but my calculations show that for my power/boost, it's not necessary.

Unsure what his beef is with me...I thought we were on the same Page (pun intended.
