Default 928turbosport turbo / intercooler systems

Hi guys,

I need to take a poll from people seriously considering this avenue via my path. If you're considering my bolt-on turbosystem (still planning to debut @ $5k & have upgrades/downgrades available), I need to ask my potential customers about my a particular item I wish not to discuss on the forums as it's not something anyone's done before in force-inducing a 928.

Please email me if you have interest in my kit & have a few minutes to ponder this option I'm considering. Thanks!

BTW: I plan to hit the track again next friday to test out the kit intercooled & with a slightly different turbo configuration.

It's a semi-unconventional intercooler plumbing routing solution: common to upgraded Supras, RX-7's, and even 944t's, but never considered on a 928.

That's all.

As long as it isn't external on the car, it shouldn't be too objectionable

Front mount? Alky injection?
Ah, I'm just dreamin, I won't have the 5K to go for it, but appreciate the chance to live vicariously.

BTW, I did either a yahoo or google "video" search for 928, and it turned up what appeared to be video of a red S hosted in Latvia. Looked kind like the old 'Fast' footage, but the title referenced turbo. Perhaps the webmaster was confused. Anyway, just a point of info in case additional tech data is on the page.

I'll be interested in exploring all FI options sometime mid-next year - car won't be ready for the motor until then. As it stands it is a 5.0L with Euro S heads and intake etc

Mark,

Did you replace the clutch? If yes, is it OEM or somethng stronger?

I just overheated my clutch on the first pass. Normally, it holds up. To be noted: even hot, it still mostly-held for 7 more passes.

No, an intercooler of that size is not necessary unless you're running 12+psi boost. That's huge! Wonder how many seconds the car would run before it overheated

Default engine pic

Due to request, here's what my engine looks like with the 928TS prototype system installed: Nothing added really, just a bit removed.

Disregard the blue ignition source wire for my oil scavenging pump: it was the only strong engine-bay located ignition source I could easily get to at 2am the night before.

Have a good weekend! Off to prepare for 3rd Coast

I see in your quote that you have a 91' Turbo, what mods do you have to turn that 1/4 mile?

Christian
