Default Early CIS fuel distributor?

I am rebuilding a white 931 from the ground up into 924 carrera gts specs.
My question is how to get an early 928 fuel distributor to work on a early 924 setup. The factory used them on the gts to get about 45 more horsepower out of the 924 turbo engine. They split the eight hard lines coming out of the distributor down into four lines into the injectors. That way the motor ran really rich and can take advantage of all that extra air from the GTS specs.
Any help on how I could duplicate this method could help. Thank you all.

I don't know if this is possible. I believe the air sensor plates operate differently between the two models, if I am not mistaken. I believe the 924 is up-draft compared to the 928 which is down draft at the plate.

I have seen 930 Turbo motors running on an 8 cylinder Distributor (possibly a 928 unit), with only 6 of the 8 outlets connected. Looks like the delivery specs are higher ?

There is (look at Excellence back-issues) a Carrera GTS in California, which is original. You may be able to pick up pointers there. Please share if you do, just for interest's sake.

Default 928 furl distributor!

I have pictures of two 924 carrera gts and they use a 928 fuel distributor. Im shure of it because I have talked to the owner of one of the cars. I just cant figure out how they split eight lines into four to go into injectors.

CIS 928 engines are literally 2 924 engines, only the zundfolge was changed. So, you should be able to decipher it by looking at 928 sequence and comparing that with 924 sequence.

Maybe try a Mercedes Benz V8 distributor...very similar to the 928, but you can meter the fuel via individual adjustment screws. Use 4 and open up the meter screws, plug the other 4. (Unless you want the 928 unit because it would apprear original)

The key differences between the GT and a normal turbo are the inclusion of an intercooler with bonnet scoop, turbocharger, rear axle and bodywork extensions
I also see that the GT utilizes a 928 fuel pressure regulator

I really don't know much about this sybject, but what if you connect four holes in the distributor like a normal car, and connect the other 4 to this 4. So, each injector will get double the fuel. Could it work?

There appears to be a couple misconceptions here. First, the 931 air sensor plate is downdraft like the 928 and second, there is no sequence to the fuel movement on a CIS system. CIS is a continuous flowing system as the name implies.

Connecting two distributor lines to one injector would deliver more fuel when needed during boost but would cause an extremely rich mixture in nonboost driving. As touched on earlier, a solution would be to install electrically activated injectors (i.e. cold start injectors) in the intake plenum and connect them to the extra 928 fuel lines. The triggering circuit could be accomplished by using the existing boost switch or installing a boost activated solenoid/relay.
