I have a special edition Road and Track from 1988 that did top end tests of 17 supercars and the Testarossa did 185, s4 173 and the winner that year was a Ruf narrow body 911 that did 211.

FB..............believe what you will from any road tests you may read but this my personal experience where I drove my 928 S4 modified per my signature and a 1990 Ferrari Testarosa within less than a 24hr period. I'm not a professional car tester of an exotic magazine but I am a past professional motorcycle racer who knows how to get the most out of machines I ride/drive.

My top speed statement was based on road conditions; a public open highway that in my part of the world means wide open for the most part. So given that same stretch of highway I believe my 928 would have been ahead and stayed ahead. And, for the $$$ for the F-car, I'm now back to buying a 928 GT and a nice new 4X4 for the SO to replace her beater Jeep and use the left over cash for a nice winter holiday.

Don't let me stop you buying a Testarossa if you so wish, now that I've personally driven one hard, I'm not.

I'm still waiting to read for the first time on this forum that an owner actually likes another car better. Isn't there one person here that actually feels that something else is better? I'm sorry but I find this rather incredulous!

I think you have hit the nail on the head. For the life of me I could not understand the irrational devotion found here. But you have said it. Its love and love is blind.

Probably, but their comments or bias toward anything other than a 928 would put their post into a more "General Discussion" direction.
But Malcolm, I really don't understand where your first post went????
If it had remained, we would have been able to follow a 928 owner first flirting with the idea; then actually checking out some very tempting 'strange' (proving that he's got an open mind and is clearly not 'blinded by love'). But then he comes back to his old, only true love (I hear that redheads can do that).
If that isn't nail-on-the-head, 928-related, I don't know what is.

JP...............I've invited the moderators to respond but they did not. With 600 reads on his part II alone one would assume that the forum is interested in open points of veiw.

I'm a performance enthuisiast period...............I truly appreciate my 928 but also realise there are other exotic cars in this world. My experience is not to promote F-cars or to domonish 928s only a real life comparo.

I'm living for the moment and don't care really who made the damn thing but really how does thing the thrill really get me going!!!!
