Book time is over ten hours IIRC, I will look that up for you Monday, but it is a lot of time.
Some of these folks say that they can do a shock swap in a hour for all four are full of it IMHO, at least on a stock set up that is almost 25 years old , the last one we did we had to put the shocks in a 20 ton press just to get the adjustment collars off of the old shocks.

My answer is, it depends on which car and how you are doing it.
I will not allow any one in my shop to use a on car spring compressor, they are dangerous IMHO.
Has the car been apart before?
Takes more time to do if the pins are damn near welded in.
Are you using shocks that come with new ride height adjuster?
If so you can knock off how ever long it takes to get the collars off.

Just pulled a muscle trying to undo the second hub nut, so no chance of working on the car for some time now. I feel like a right plonker.

How slow am I? Very Very Slow Indeed.

Greg

I agree and disagree.

If you had it all apart last week , down to the smallest component, then 10 hours with pro workshop tools is probably gilding the lily. If you've never had it apart beforre then 20 hours is not a bad estimate.
